While the Wawezeshe Wasome Foundation team was conducting field assessments and structuring a comprehensive campaign for Nanja Primary School, an urgent need arose on the ground.
The Grade Seven graduating class was rapidly approaching their final National Primary School Leaving Examinations. Facing severe resource constraints, these candidates were at risk of entering the examination room without the most fundamental learning and test-taking tools.
Delivering Immediate Relief
Through the swift generosity of our dedicated partners and stakeholders, Wawezeshe Wasome Foundation stepped in to provide an immediate emergency response. While we continue to lay the groundwork to address the school’s long-term infrastructure needs, we successfully procured and delivered vital examination preparation packages directly to the Grade Seven pupils:

-
Mathematical Sets: Ensuring students have the precise instruments required for Mathematics and Science subjects.
-
Pens & Pencils: Eliminating stationery shortages so every student can write their exams with ease.
-
Revision Materials & Exercise Books: Equipping candidates with the essential tools needed for final revision and subject preparation.
This timely support provided more than just physical stationery—it delivered a crucial boost of confidence, dignity, and peace of mind to these young scholars as they sat for their milestone exams.
The Mission Continues: Help Us Reach the Entire School
While we celebrate this milestone for Grade Seven, our comprehensive assessment report reveals that the vast majority of the 703 pupils at Nanja Primary School still face severe, daily challenges:
-
Desk Shortage: A deficit of 59 desks forces dozens of young children to sit on dusty floors during lessons.
-
Food Insecurity: Unreliable lunch programs leave students struggling with hunger, affecting their health and academic performance.
-
Water & Sanitation Deficit: The complete lack of clean water heavily impacts health, school sanitation, and menstrual hygiene for young girls.
-
Basic Learning Supplies & Uniforms: Hundreds of lower-grade pupils still lack basic exercise books, storybooks, intact uniforms, and shoes.
